Currently the Google Play Music mobile app does not support adding album art to music files. This means you must use the web platform to add art manually for those albums which Google did not add it automatically.[1] You will need to download album art to your computer, sign in to your Google Music account, access your library, and then upload the art to the select songs or albums. Mobile users must remember to use the "Refresh" feature in the app to pull the latest changes to their device.
-
1
Search the internet for album art. Use Google image search or album databases, like Discogs to search for albums and artists.
- Try and find high quality images (at least 300x300 pixels) to avoid a grainy or distorted appearance.
-
2
Right-click ( Ctrl click on Mac) and select "Save Image As…" to download the album art to your computer. It may be helpful to name the image file something familiar so it is easier to keep track of.

Question
How can I change cover art?
Create a new folder in your "My Files" and name it for example "My Music" and make a folder in the folder titled "My Music" named after an album you wish to add the art to. Then find and download the desired album art and put it in the folder you named to match the album.

You can embed album art to the ID3 tags of the MP3 files using a number of software solutions (for example, iTunes, http://www.foobar2000.org/ Foobar2000], or dbpoweramp) before uploading them to the Google Play Music servers. However this will also increase the size of each file due to the stored artwork.
